Appearance: Essek is a rather handsome drow, with white hair that is short on the sides and is a bit longer and styled on top. He eyes are a deep violet, his ears are adorned with several earrings, and his right has a filigree cap on the tip. He tends to wear an intricate and elegant mantle and robes that cover his body, hiding the fact that his feet tend not to touch the ground. See: here.

Personality:
-Ambitious: Essek was driven at a young age on his quest for knowledge, and while he is still young, he does hold a significantly high position in the government.

-Intelligent: Considered a prodigy, Essek has studied a great deal of magic, and has even created his own spells (including Resonant Echo).

-Distant: Essek has spent a lot of his life alone, not trusting of others, too driven in his work, and skeptical of the religion his home believes in. It was only after repeated interactions with the Mighty Nein that he began to branch out, but it took a lot of time and a lot of honesty and forgiveness.

-Charming: Years in the court and navigating the correct circles has honed his espected social abilities. It’s only when people get under the surface that it has the opportunity to cracks the façade.

-Driven: Essek will do anything to learn, including betray his home and commit several war crimes.

-Arrogant: He knows he’s smart, he knows he’s good at what he does, and he can – at times – believe that he knows best.

-Guilty: He knows the crimes he has committed, and has been trying to atone for them.

Weaknesses/Temptations: Essek has a deeply rooted need for understanding and knowledge. He will, at his core, do almost anything to obtain it (including war crimes). However he is learning to set his boundaries and restrictions.

Powers/Abilities: Essek is a 16th level wizard, focused on dunamancy (specifically the study of gravity with a subclass of Chronurgy Magic). Like Caleb, he is a War Caster (can cast spells when his hands are full, advantaged on Con saves when trying to maintain Concentration while taking damage, can use a reaction to cast a spell at a hostile creature). Also, as a drow, he has Superior Darkvision (and by contrast, light sensitivity), Keen Senses (high Perception), and Trance (four hour meditation) instead of sleep. He also knows the following languages: Common, Undercommon, and Elven. Essek also has a tendency to float a few inches over the ground instead of walking.

Items: A rather elegant parasol that Jester has given him (that probably has donuts painted on the handle), his spellbook, a pouch of spell components, Amulet of Proof against Detection and Location, Sending Stones.
